In decorating a home, there are things that we should consider.  You may have heard about the three basic elements that make room designing a success.  Apart from those three, there are other things worth considering such as contrast and rhythm.

Contrast is a concept that I know you already know. It is like putting this color against that color to create a good effect. If you have mastered this technique, let me know.  Anyway, having that skill pays a lot in designing a home.

Although contrast should be used, it should not be overused. Of course, it would be better if it is used in such a way that it enhances the look of a room instead of making it all look cluttered and contradicting that it hurts the eye already.  This concept is sometimes used for Valentines Day activities such as fine dining when a color wants to be highlighted.

Now, what about rhythm eh?  It is a concept of having the rooms in your home having something in common.  It does not have to be really obvious like hearts on every room but it can also be in subtle ways like colors.  The contrast of colors can be used in every room in your home to give it that rhythm we are talking about.
